Aadhaar-seeding

ESI Corporation vide its Gazette Notification No. CG-DL-E-13012023-241936 (Part-IISection-3 – Sub Section (ii) dated 13/01/2023 has been allowed to perform the Aadhaarauthentication on voluntary basis, for identification of beneficiaries under the provisions of theESI Act,1948.In view of the above notification, provision for seeding Aadhaar has been incorporated in theESIC online application. Also, the provision to create/fetch ABHA (Ayushman Bharat HealthAccount) Number has also been made therein.

Accordingly, ESIC Hospital Ezhukone  took up the task of aadhaar seeding of IPs and its beneficiaries as well as to create awareness among them.

Benefits of Aadhaar Seeding:

1. The demographic details of the Insured Person (IP) will be stored in the ESIC database thereby fulfilling the basic part of KYC.

2. Identification/Validation of the beneficiaries at the point of delivery of services.

3. Aadhaar seeding will be immensely helpful in de-duplication of the registered Insured Persons (IPs).

4. Aadhaar Seeding will ensure that while doing registration of new employee, the

duplicate registration is not accepted for the already registered employees. Which in turn will enable the IP to avail his/her ESIC benefits as per his prevalent contributory conditions.

5. ABHA serves as the unique identifier to facilitate the endeavours of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) by providing interoperability of health records. It shall enable the Health Institutions (Hospitals)/Appropriate Authorities to make evidencebased decisions with the immediate availability of medical history of every employee.

6. By creation of ABHA Number, the ESI Beneficiaries shall also be able to draw benefits from his health record interoperability, in a situation their case is referred to another hospital or they take treatment at a different demographic area.

7. By Aadhaar Seeding the ESIC beneficiaries can remove all anomalies in their record which were erroneously submitted by them or their respective employers to the ESIC.

Methodology:

1. ESIC Hospital Ezhukone is facilitating the process of Adhaar Seeding by deploying dedicated staff at all Registration counters and adhar seeding counters on all working days .

2. By organising Aadhaar Seeding Camps within the premises of the Employers under its jurisdiction and encouraging all employers/registered IPs to come forward voluntarily and retrieve the benefits of Aadhaar seeding.

3. ESIC has also launched the app “aaa+esic” which can be easily downloaded from the Google-play store. The app not only enables the Aadhaar Seeding of the IPs & their dependents but also give them a 24x7 access to their respective ESIC records including the medical history. The employers are therefore, being motivated to ensure the Aadhaar Seeding through the app as per their own convenience at the earliest.

To deliver its services to the rightful IPs, facilitating ESIC in the Aadhaar Seeding is a way to ensure the accomplishment of the task.
